Celebrations of the 69th Republic Day

The 69th Republic Day of India was celebrated on 26 Jan 2018 at Embassy of India in Lisbon. About 90 people of the Indian Community, NRIs/PIOs and Indian students celebrated the occasion with patriotic fervour. Ambassador of India to Portugal H. E. Mrs. K Nandini Singla unfurled the Indian National Flag and read out the Address of the Hon'ble President of India to the Nation. In her remarks on the occasion, Ambassador highlighted the achievements of the two VVIP visits in 2017 - visit of Prime Minister of Portugal Dr. Antonio Costa to India (January 07 - 12, 2017) and visit of Shri Narendra Modi to Portugal (June 24, 2017). She thanked the Indian Community in Portugal for their contribution towards strengthening the warm and friendly relations between India and Portugal and invited them to actively partner in India's transformative growth story. This was followed by a cultural programme which included singing of patriotic songs.
