President Droupadi Murmu addressed members of the Indian community at a reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Portugal. She was accompanied by Minister of State Smt. Nimuben Bambhaniya and Members of Parliament Shri Dhaval Patel and Smt. Sandhya Ray.

In her address, the President highlighted that the Indian diaspora in Portugal—representing various regions and communities of India—embodies the country’s rich diversity and reflects the shared values of democracy, pluralism, and fraternity that bind India and Portugal.

She also spoke about the cultural linkages between the two countries, including the growing popularity of Yoga, Ayurveda, and the culinary similarities that bring people closer across cultures.

This vibrant community interaction marked the conclusion of President Murmu’s successful two-day State Visit to Portugal.
